Henk Ovink

Henk Ovink is one of the world’s leading experts on designing sustainable infrastructure in the light of climate change and on the links between governance/politics, planning, design, and the environment. Recently named Special Envoy, International Water Affairs at Kingdom of the Netherlands, Henk previously served as a Senior Advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development’s Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Task Force, and is the Vice Director General and Director of National Spatial Planning for the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. He is also the principle of the visionary design firm, Rebuild by Design. Besides his illustrious career as a public servant, he has written many influential papers, curated many major architecture and design events, and has taught widely, including at: Harvard, Columbia, the University of Kentucky, Delft, and the Eindhoven Design Academy.
